Learn More about the Students at Oaks Christian Online School

This newsletter is brought to you by Oaks Christian Online School

There is great diversity in the students who attend Oaks Christian Online School (OCO). The school offers a flexible schedule while supporting students academically through teachers, college counselors, academic advisors and an administrative team. Below you will read about some of the unique and talented OCO students and why they chose OCO for their full-time education. While reading about the school gives great insight into its programming, hearing from the students themselves can offer an inside perspective as to what the school has to offer.
Current 10th grade student, Sammy D'Ambrosio
Like many other OCO students pursuing their passions in sports, the performing arts, or missionary work abroad, Sammy says she chose to be a full-time OCO student because of the flexibility of the online program. Sammy states, "This allows me to have more time to play soccer during the day while still being able to learn at a time more convenient with my schedule." Being an OCO student also gives her discipline, responsibility and self-motivation to be a success. Sammy adds, "You need to know how to get your work done without waiting 'til the last minute. It's the perfect program for me! I can do an assignment, go on a training run around the neighborhood, then return to do more school work."
Current 7th grade student, Anjoulie Kempton
When asked how OCO has helped her academic career and pursuit of outside activities, Anjoulie states, "OCO has helped me because it has made me more mature. I have had to figure things out on my own and not be distracted. It has also given me more time and flexibility for ballet and to recover from a dance injury."
Current 12th grade student, Alex Lin
Alex has truly benefitted from being enrolled in a rigorous online high school, as it has allowed him the time and freedom to pursue his many passions, as well as participate in a unique learning environment which has created opportunities for individualized instruction, friendships and academic excellence. Also in his free time, Alex enjoys watching baseball, spending time with friends, learning, and watching Marvel movies. When asked what he is looking forward to in the coming year, Alex states, "I am looking forward to planning the third annual Autism Rocks Concert, going to college and getting to know more people from all around the world."
